WEN-MI has provided some first rate information about DMA exams. Here's what you need to know if you are a doctoral candidate.
First of all, you need to pass both music history and theory qualifying exams before you proceed to the clarinet major written exam and oral exam. You sign up the exams through the college office with Prof. Hawley’s signature since he is our advisor. The deadline for signing up exams for the next fall quarter is September 1st. The exam schedule for the next year is:
Fall: Oct. 9—History
Oct. 11—Theory
Winter: Jan. 17—History
Jan. 19—Theory
Spring: April 9—History
April 11—Theory
You can go to the e-reserve to download exam samples, and I have the answer keys for all of those exams. In addition, I have some history study notes from other people, possible essay topics, and 19 CDs for the listening section in the exam. If you would like to borrow any of these, please let me know. And if you do not have the new edition of the Grout, you might want to get a copy because there are too many mistakes in the old edition. Wallis is taking the theory exam in fall, and I am planning to take the history exam. Is there any other brave soul wants to join us? We can do group study if you like. (For Wallis: I’ll be full time for both of my degrees next year, so you can stop worried about that you won’t be able to find me.) Any question?

STUDIO REDS GAME!
It's a perfect night at the Great American Ball Park...

Our seats were awesome! Right over left field...

We're ready to party, well at least Dan is.

Never does Richie get so excited about food, except when he has a big tub of jalapeno nachos in front of him!

First inning, Griffiths hits a 407ft home run and the fireworks get cranked up, whooo hooo!
